UV technology has enabled wide format printing speeds to new unheard-of levels.  The ‘dry’ time is drastically down to almost zero, which allows much quicker packing of the output resulting in huge savings in turnaround time.

Unlike oil-based, aqueous and solvent inks, UV technology allows us to print on just about any substrate, rigid or flexible and coated and uncoated, including paper, vinyl,  polyesters,  as well as wood, glass, ceramics, textiles and more. This was not possible just a few years ago and has opened up new creative possibilities for the designer and printing specialists. The ability of UV printers to print on the various substrate is due to the fact that the inks for the UV technology do not penetrate the surface and is ‘cured’ immediately so both porous and non-porous materials can be used.

Another additional advantage of UV is that the ink is environmentally safe to use even in indoor applications in offices and residences, as once the ink is cured there is no emission of hazardous air pollutants unlike in solvent-based inks.  Again, this means that UV printing can now be used in applications where health and safety issues meant that solvent-based inks could not be used for e.g. in the food industry.

Currently, UV printing is increasingly becoming the most popular all over especially in commercial packaging, signboards, textile, wall wraps, and even bedsheets and pillow covers.
